Cookie Policy
The website rossimare.it uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure the proper functioning of procedures and to improve the experience of using online applications. This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, how rossimare.it uses them, and how to manage them.
Definitions
Cookies are small text files (letters and/or numbers) that allow a web server to store information on the client (browser) to be reused during the same visit to the website (session cookies) or later, even days afterwards (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone) based on user preferences.
Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, may also be used to collect user behavior data and service usage.
In this document, the term “cookies” refers to both cookies and all similar technologies.
Types of Cookies
Based on the characteristics and usage of cookies, we can distinguish several categories:
• Strictly necessary cookies. These are essential for the proper operation of rossimare.it and are used to manage login and access to reserved features of the site. Disabling these cookies may compromise the use of the services that require login.
• Performance and analytics cookies. These cookies are used to collect and analyze site traffic and usage anonymously. While they do not identify the user, they allow, for example, detection of whether the same user reconnects at different times. They also help monitor the system and improve performance and usability. Disabling these cookies does not affect site functionality.
• Profiling cookies. These are persistent cookies used to identify (anonymously or not) user preferences and enhance their browsing experience. rossimare.it does not use this type of cookie.
Third-party cookies
When visiting a website, cookies may be received from both the visited site (“first-party cookies”) and from websites operated by other organizations (“third-party cookies”). A notable example is the presence of “social plugins” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by these sites and integrated into the host site. The most common use of social plugins is content sharing on social networks.
The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites operated by third parties. The handling of the collected information by third parties is governed by their own privacy policies, to which reference should be made. For transparency and convenience, here are the web addresses of the various policies and cookie management instructions:

Google Analytics
The website rossimare.it also includes components sent by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). These are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses “cookies” to anonymously collect and analyze information on the usage behavior of rossimare.it (including the user’s IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics and processed to produce reports for rossimare.it operators on site activities.
This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google Analytics to track or collect personal identification information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google, nor does it seek to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

Users can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser. To disable Google Analytics, visit:

Cookie Duration
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed. Other cookies “survive” the closing of the browser and are available on subsequent user visits.
These are called persistent cookies, and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases, an expiration is set; in others, the duration is indefinite.
rossimare.it does not use persistent cookies.
However, while browsing the pages of rossimare.it, one may interact with third-party websites that may create or modify persistent and profiling cookies.
Cookie Management
Users can decide whether to accept cookies using their browser settings.
Warning: disabling technical cookies in whole or in part may affect functionality reserved for registered users. However, access to public content is possible even when cookies are completely disabled.
Disabling “third-party” cookies does not affect site navigation.
Browser settings can be configured specifically for different websites and web applications. Moreover, the best browsers allow different settings for first-party and third-party cookies.
For example, in Firefox, through Tools -> Options -> Privacy, a control panel is available to define whether or not to accept different types of cookies and remove them.
