Besides the environment, feed is another fundamental aspect that influences and characterizes the quality of the final product. Being able to choose and directly control the raw materials used guarantees a safe product, rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, and especially unsaturated fatty acids (EPA, DHA) essential for human health.
Presented at the Seafood Expo Global in Brussels, the antibiotic-free guidelines have generated interest from retailers: in recent years, there have been reports of pathogenic bacteria resistant to antibiotic treatments in humans. Indeed, at the end of the last century, worldwide, not just in Europe, there was indiscriminate use of antibiotics in animal farming for food production, which is now considered one of the main causes of antibiotic resistance.
Our approach is to build transparency and trust among the various actors in the supply chain, which is important in a world where consumers pay more and more attention to what they eat.
Therefore, our commitment to sustainability considers the protection of human and animal health as its core, and we choose to work with partners who share our vision that responsible sourcing is not seen solely from an economic perspective, but also in relation to environmental protection and social development, including human and workers’ rights.
